- Voting Entry Period: The "Global Youth Special Edition Notebook Design Sweepstakes" (the "Sweepstakes") commences at 6:00:00 PM (EST) on September 5, 2007 and ends at 09:00:00 P.M. (EST) on October 17, 2007 (the "Contest Period"). All Sweepstakes entries must be received by 08:59:59 P.M. (ET) on October 17, 2007.
- Sweepstakes Overview: Entry into this Sweepstakes is accomplished by registering and by voting, in accordance with these Official Rules, for the preferred contestant design entry in the Global Youth Special Edition Notebook Design Contest running concurrently with this Sweepstakes. Entrants in this Sweepstakes must not also be entrants in the Global Youth Special Edition Notebook Design Contest.
- Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of countries in the following regions; [Europe, Canada, Asia, Latin America, the 50 continental United States and District of Columbia] (each a "Territory", together the "Territories") must be at least 16 years of age. If entrant is not the age of majority in the jurisdiction where entrant resides, then entrant will be required to get parent/legal guardian consent in order to enter Sweepstakes. Entrants must not also be contestants in the Global Youth Special Edition Notebook Design Contest which is running concurrently with this Sweepstakes. Employees (and their immediate families, i.e., parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, step parents, step children and step siblings) of MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. ("MTVN"), and Hewlett Packard, ("HP") and, together with MTVN, the "Sponsor Entities"), and each of their respective affiliated companies, sponsors, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, third party fulfillment agencies and any person who has won an MTVN or HP contest or sweepstakes in the preceding twelve (12) month period, are not eligible. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants: (a) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the interpretations of these Official Rules by the Sponsor Entities, and by the decisions of the Sponsor Entities, which are final in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes; (b) to release and hold harmless the Sponsor Entities and their respective agents, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns, against any and all claims, injury or damage arising out of or relating to participation in this Sweepstakes and/or use or misuse or redemption of a prize; and (c) acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules.
- To Enter: Visit www.mtv-tama.com, a web site owned and controlled by MTVN and complete all required fields and by furnishing registration information which may include name, address, territory, email address and contact information (the "Registration Information") on the online entry form and submit your contestant preference by pressing the button adjacent to your preferred contestants design and assigning a rating on a zero to five (0-5) star rating system. Entrants must also electronically acknowledge and agree to the terms of MTVNs Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and submit the online entry form as instructed. All entries submitted in accordance with these Official Rules shall be hereinafter referred to as "Eligible Entries". Limit one (1) vote per design. Users may rate multiple Designs, but may only rate once for each Design. If an entrant uses multiple e-mail addresses to submit more than one vote, only the first online entry will count. In the event of a dispute over who submitted a winning online vote entry, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to participate in the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry, will be deemed to be the entrant. The authorized account subscriber is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g. business, education, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entrants may be required to provide us with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the associated e-mail address. All votes and Registration Information become the property of MTVN and will not be acknowledged or returned.
- Winner Selection/Notification: There will be four (4) prize winners selected (the "Prize Winner(s)"). One Prize Winner will be randomly selected for each Territory on or about October 22, 2007 from all Eligible Entries received in the Territory. The odds of winning depend on the number of applicable Eligible Entries received in the Territory. The Sponsor Entities will make up to two (2) attempts over the 48 hour period following Prize Winner selection to contact the potential Winners via the telephone number(s) provided on their online entry form. If a potential Prize Winner cannot be reached during the 48 hour period in which he/she is called (no messages will be left on answering machines or voicemail systems) the potential Prize Winner will be disqualified and an alternate Prize Winner will be selected from among the remaining applicable Eligible Entries received.
- Winner Verification: The potential Winners must prove eligibility, including, without limitation, proof of age and residence within three (3) days of being notified as a potential Winner. In the event of non-compliance by a potential Winner such potential Winner shall be disqualified and all privileges otherwise due as a Winner shall be terminated and an alternative potential Winner may be chosen from among all of the remaining applicable Eligible Entries received in the Sponsor Entities sole discretion. The Winners must sign (their parent/legal guardian if Winner is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor) within three (3) days of receipt of such documents from the Sponsor Entities: (a) an affidavit of eligibility and release of Sponsor Entities and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, members, affiliated companies and subsidiaries, from any and all liability, loss, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and/or damage, theft, loss, or any other harm suffered in connection with this Sweepstakes directly or indirectly from acceptance, possession, or misuse of any prize participation in this Sweepstakes or while traveling to, preparing for or participating in any prize related activity to be eligible for the Prizes (as hereinafter defined); and (b) except where prohibited by law, a promotional release granting Sponsor Entities the right to use their name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. Entry into this Sweepstakes constitutes agreement to sign such releases. Winners (their parent/legal guardian if Winner is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor) also must acknowledge that Sponsor Entities have not and will not obtain or provide insurance of any kind relating to the Prizes and that Winner will be responsible for obtaining and paying for any life, travel, accident, property or other form of insurance relating to the Prizes. Winners must also complete any additional legal documents provided by MTVN (or third party on its behalf, if applicable) with respect to the Prizes and return them as instructed within the timeframe specified by MTVN or Winner may forfeit Prizes at MTVNs sole discretion. All decisions of MTVN relating to the Sweepstakes are final. MTVN expressly reserves the right to delay the announcement of the Winners for creative or technical reasons or for any other reason MTVN deems necessary.
- Prizes: The Prize Winner in each Territory will receive one (1) HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Series Notebook PC.
The Approximate retail value (the "ARV") of each of the Prizes is USD$800.00 and is subject to change based on current market conditions at time of Prize fulfillment. Any difference between the ARV and the actual value, if any, will not be rewarded.
If for any reason any prize-related event is delayed, cancelled or postponed, the Sponsor Entities reserve the right, but are not obligated, to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes in their discretion and shall award a substitute prize of equal or greater value. Arrangements for fulfillment of the Prizes will be made by MTVN. The dates for fulfillment of the Prizes will be on or around December 1, 2007 subject to programming requirements and such dates are subject to change in the sole discretion of the Sponsor Entities.
- General Prize Terms: All costs and expenses not specifically listed above are solely Winners responsibility. The value of the Prizes will be taxable to Winners as income. Winners must supply the Sponsor Entities with their social security number for tax purposes. An IRS Form 1099 will be issued in the name of Winner, or if a minor, in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, for the actual value of the Prize received. Upon entry into the Sweepstakes, Winners as well as all other entrants) are required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. All federal, state and local taxes, and any other costs not specifically provided for in these Official Rules are solely the Winners responsibility. Sponsor Entities shall have no responsibility or obligation to a Winner or potential Winner who is unable or unavailable to accept or utilize Prizes as described herein.
No substitution, transfer or cash equivalent of the Prizes or any portion thereof permitted, except by Sponsor Entities, in which case a prize of equal or greater value may be awarded.
- General Terms: Noncompliance with any of these Official Rules may result in disqualification. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY A WINNER OR ANY BEHAVIOR BY A WINNER THAT WILL BRING SUCH WINNER OR SPONSOR ENTITIES INTO DISREPUTE (IN SPONSOR ENTITIES SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNERS DISQUALIFICATION AS A WINNER OF THE GLOBAL YOUTH SPECIAL EDITION NOTEBOOK DESIGN COMPETITION SWEEPSTAKES AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS A WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
The Sponsor Entities assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. The Sponsor Entities are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, or any incomplete, lost, late, delayed, misdirected or garbled votes or failure to receive votes, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to participants or any other persons computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials or software or attempts to participate in or download materials or software related to this Sweepstakes or the voting process. The Sponsor Entities are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes, or in the announcement of the Prizes and the Winners. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes (including, but not limited to, any aspect of the online voting process) is not capable of running as planned, or are disrupted or corrupted, including, without limitation, changes in MTVNs on-air programming, or changes in Hewlett Packards production schedule, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical or system failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor Entities which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes or for any reason MTVN deems it necessary (including, but not limited to the online voting process), the Sponsor Entities reserve the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes or the online voting process or to determine the Winners in their sole discretion. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on www.mtv-tama.com and the Prizes may be awarded to winners to be selected from among all Eligible Entries received up until and or after (if applicable) the time of modification, cancellation or termination or in a manner that is fair and equitable as determined by the Sponsor Entities. All interpretations of these Official Rules and decisions by the Sponsor Entities are final. No software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro or other automated votes or online or text message entries are permitted and will result in disqualification of all such entries. Automated votes, or votes that have been tampered with or otherwise solicited improperly will result in disqualification of all such votes. The Sponsor Entities reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to have tampered with the entry process, voting process or the operation of this Sweepstakes; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or to have provided inaccurate information on any legal documents submitted in connection with this Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR ENTITIES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE NEW YORK COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THE SWEEPSTAKES AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK SHALL GOVERN THE SWEEPSTAKES. EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THESE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS. Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor Entities from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Sweepstakes, to release all rights to bring any claim, action or proceeding against the Sponsor Entities, and hereby acknowledge that said Sponsor Entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Prizes, including express warranties provided exclusively by a prize supplier that are sent along with the Prizes.

2. Entry Period: The “Global Youth Special Edition Notebook Design Competition" (the “Contest”) commences at 6:00:00 PM (EST) on September 5, 2007 and ends at 09:00:00 P.M. (EST) on October 16, 2007 (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received by 08:59:59 P.M. (ET) on October 16, 2007.
3. Contest Overview: The Contest is a contest wherein entrants create a design (the “Design”) for the exterior shell of an HP laptop. (the “Exterior”) Entrants will create original Designs using their own design elements.
4. Eligibility: The Contest is open to legal residents of countries in the following regions; Europe, Asia, Latin America, Canada, the 50 continental United States and District of Columbia (each a “Territory”, together the “Territories.”) Entrants must be at least 16 years of age, but not older than 24 years of age, at time of entry. Entrants who are not yet at the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside will be required to obtain parental or legal guardian consent to be eligible to be declared a grand prize winner. Employees (and their immediate families i.e., parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, step parents, step children and step siblings) of MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. (“MTVN”)
and Hewlett Packard (“HP” and, together with MTVN, the “Promoter”) and each of their respective affiliated companies, sponsors, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, third party fulfillment agencies and any person who has won an MTVN Free Draw or contest in the preceding twelve (12) month period, are not eligible. By participating in this Contest, entrants: (a) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the interpretations of these Official Rules by the Promoter and by the decisions of the Promoter, which are final in all matters relating to the Contest; (b) to release and hold harmless Promoter and their respective agents, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns, against any and all claims, injury or damage arising out of or relating to participation in this Contest and/or the use or misuse or redemption of the Grand Prize (as hereinafter defined), and for any claim based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement,
5. To Enter: Log onto www.mtv-tama.com, a web site owned and controlled by MTVN (the “Web Site”) at any time during the Contest Period and follow the online instructions. Entrants may either submit an entry by downloading the design template or by uploading an already created image. (the “Design” or “Designs”) All entrants must register their Designs on the Web Site by completing all required fields, which may include name, address, territory, email address and contact information. (the “Registration Information”) Entrants must also electronically agree to the terms of use of the MTVN’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and User Content Submission Agreement.
All Designs must be completely original to Entrants and must not have been taken or composed, in whole or in part, from any other source other than the Entrant, and must not have been released commercially in order to be eligible to enter Contest. Entries which contain materials that are not the original work of the Entrants, or are illegible or incomplete will not be accepted.
Entrants agree: (i) that Designs may be used by Promoter in whole or in part for any purpose whatsoever without any compensation; and (ii) hereby grant to Promoter the non-exclusive, irrevocable right and license to exhibit, broadcast, copy, reproduce, encode, compress, encrypt, incorporate data into, edit, broadcast, rebroadcast, transmit, record, publicly perform, create derivative works of, and distribute and synchronize in time related to visual elements, the Designs and/or any portion or excerpts thereof, in any manner, an unlimited number of times, in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity.
Designs shall not contain, include or involve any of the following:
· Photographs
· Obscenity
· Crude, vulgar or offensive pictures, depictions, images, language and/or symbols
· Gang signs or symbols
· Nudity
· Commercial products (e.g., clothing, toys, food) and/or their trademarks, brands, logos or endorsements
· License plates, phone numbers, personal addresses – physical or email or otherwise
· Website or web page links
· Derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups, humiliate other people (publicly or otherwise), any assault or threatening of others
· Trespass or the violation of other people’s rights or property
· Illegal (e.g., discriminatory, harassing) or inappropriate activity, behavior or conduct (e.g., inflicting emotional distress)
· Conduct or activities in violation of these Official Rules
· Any other content, display, materials and/or images that is or could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, as determined by MTVN, in its sole discretion
Designs containing content which endorses or condones illegal drug use or alcohol abuse is not allowed. Narcotic addiction and alcohol abuse should only be depicted as self-destructive, anti-social behavior. Designs should not promote, glamorize or show as socially acceptable, the use of illegal drugs or the abuse of legal drugs.
Designs containing explicit, graphic or excessive sexual activity are not allowed. When sexual themes are key to the meaning or intent of the Design, they must be depicted with consistent regard for commonly accepted standards of taste and propriety.
Designs depicting gratuitous violence are unacceptable. Violence, if depicted, must be essential to the development of a theme, plot or concept of the Design. Violence may not be used to stimulate the audience or to invite imitation, nor may it be shown or offered as an acceptable solution to problem or conflict. Exceptional care must be taken in instances where women and children are victims of, or are threatened by, acts of violence.
Language contained in Designs will be evaluated by MTVN based on context and societal acceptability.
In submitting an entry into this Contest, each Entrant agrees to, confirms and represents to MTVN that neither he/she nor anyone else has engaged or taken part in (or induced or encouraged anyone else to do so) in any activity or conduct in connection with this Contest that: (i) may or is likely to harm or create a risk of harm, physical or mental injury, emotional distress, death, disability, disfigurement, or physical or mental illness to any person, other living thing or any property; (ii) may or is likely to create a risk of any other loss or damage to person, living things or property; (iii) is or may constitute a crime, unlawful or non-consensual activities (e.g., conduct that could lead to criminal prosecution), tortious conduct (e.g., conduct that could lead to civil prosecution) or the violation or infringement of the rights of any other party; or (iv) violates any of the terms or conditions of these Official Rules. MTVN is not obligated to review, consider, use, publish, display or broadcast any materials submitted with an entry; provided however that each Entrant acknowledges that MTVN will rely on such Entrant’s agreement and compliance with these Official Rules when Entrant submits or attempts to submit the entry. MTVN (and any and all of MTVN’s subsidiaries and affiliates and affiliated broadcast stations and networks) shall have the right to use any materials submitted pursuant to these Official Rules in or on the Web Site, and in or on any other program, programming channel, broadcast or other public display and performance, at any time in the future, without notice and without compensation, royalty, accounting, liability or obligation of any kind to any entrant.
MTVN reserves the right to reject any entries that it deems, in its sole discretion, to violate any of the policies of MTVN’s “Standards and Practices Guidelines.” MTVN may modify or edit any materials related to a Contest entry or request Entrants to do so, so that such materials meet such guidelines.
All entries submitted in accordance with these Official Rules shall be collectively hereinafter referred to as the “Eligible Entries”. Incomplete or inaccurate entries are void. The official judging panel will be comprised of four (4) representatives from MTVN (1 from the United States, 1 from Latin America, 1 from Asia and 1 from Europe), one (1) representative from Hewlett Packard, and one (1) from Goodby Silverstein & Partners (the “Judges”), and the entries will be judged based on the judging criteria set forth in Paragraph 8 below. The final determination of the grand prize winner and the application of the judging criteria shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges. To the extent permitted by law, MTVN and Judges disclaim any liability from, and Entrants, whether or not a Grand Prize Winner, agree to waive, any claims against MTVN and Judges relating to the judging or awarding process. MTVN reserves the right to delay the announcement of the Grand Prize Winner in its sole discretion. All Designs become the property of Promoter and will not be acknowledged or returned.
6. User Voting: All Design entries on the Website will be reviewed by MTVN within 48 hours.
Entrants will receive an email when their Design has been posted to the Website. All designs on the Website will be rated by Website users on a zero to five (0-5) star rating system. Users may rate multiple Designs, but may only rate once for each Design. The five Designs in each Territory with the highest overall ratings will become Regional Finalists.
7. Online Rating: During the Contest Period, Submission Materials will be posted on the Web Site for rating by users of Web Site. Judges will take ratings into consideration when determining Grand Prize Winner and Regional Winner, but the final determination of the Grand Prize Winner and the Regional Prize Winner will be in the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges.
8. Judging Criteria: The Judges will judge the Designs of the Regional Finalists based on a variety of elements, including but not limited to originality, creativity, how well the Design depicts the contest theme, and technical merit. The Judges will choose one best design from each Territory and together with one (1) Wild-Card/Late Entry finalist, those chosen by the Judges shall make up the five (5) finalists (the “Finalists”). The Judges reserve the right to extend the Contest Period or not to award the Grand Prizes if they determine, in their sole discretion, that entries received did not meet the minimum qualification standards based on the judging criteria specified herein.
9. Grand Prize Winner Selection/Notification: From the Finalists, the Judges will choose one (1) grand prize winner (“Grand Prize Winner”) on or about October 15, 2007. Using telephone and email contact information provided in the Registration Information, MTVN will make up to three (3) attempts over the 72 hour period following Grand Prize Winner selection to contact the potential Grand Prize Winner. If the potential Grand Prize Winner cannot be reached during the 72 hour period in which he/she is called (no messages will be left on answering machines or voicemail systems) the potential Grand Prize Winner will be disqualified and an alternative Grand Prize Winner will be selected from among the remaining Eligible Entries received. In addition, MTVN reserves the right to select an alternative Grand Prize Winner in the event that any Grand Prize Winner fails to comply with these Official Rules.
10. Grand Prize Winner Verification: The potential Grand Prize Winner (or his/her parent/legal guardian if potential Grand Prize Winner is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor) must prove eligibility, including, without limitation, proof of age and residence within four (4) days of being notified as a potential Grand Prize Winner. In the event of non-compliance by the potential Grand Prize Winner such potential Grand Prize Winner shall be disqualified and all privileges otherwise due as a Grand Prize Winner shall be terminated and an alternative potential Grand Prize Winner may be chosen from among the remaining Eligible Entries received in Promoter’s sole discretion. The potential Grand Prize Winner must sign (or, if a minor, have his/her parent or legal guardian sign) within four (4) days of receipt of such documents from the Promoter: (a) an affidavit of eligibility and release of Promoter and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, members, affiliated companies and subsidiaries, from any and all liability, loss, claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury and/or damage, theft, loss, or any other harm suffered in connection with this Contest or the use/misuse or acceptance of any Grand Prizes or any portion thereof to be eligible for the Grand Prizes; (b) except where prohibited by law, a promotional release granting Promoter the right to use their name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation; and (c) an assignment of rights in and to the Design into this Contest constitutes agreement to sign such releases. Grand Prize Winner (or, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) also must acknowledge that Promoter have not and will not obtain or provide insurance of any kind relating to the Grand Prizes and the Grand Prize Winner (or, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) will be responsible for obtaining and paying for any form of insurance relating to the Grand Prizes. Grand Prize Winner (or, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) must also complete any additional legal documents provided by the Promoter (or third party on its behalf, if applicable) with respect to the Grand Prizes and return them as instructed within the time frame specified by Promoter or Grand Prize Winner may forfeit Grand Prizes at Promoter’s sole discretion. Grand Prize Winner (or, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) agrees to be available to travel on dates to be specified by the Promoter, and if Grand Prize Winner (or, if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) is not available to travel on said dates, the Promoter reserve the right to rescind the Grand Prize and award to another Regional Finalist. The filing and acquisition of all necessary travel documentation required by any governmental body where the Grand Prize Winner resides shall be the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. Failure to acquire and produce travel documentation to the satisfaction of the Promoter, may cause the Grand Prize Winner to forfeit the Grand Prizes at Promoter’s sole discretion. Promoter expressly reserve the right to delay the announcement of the Grand Prize Winner for creative or technical reasons or for any other reason MTVN deems necessary.
11. Grand Prize: One Grand Prize Winner will receive: (a) one (1) HP Pavilion HDX9000 Entertainment Notebook (the Dragon); and (a2) one (1) limited edition HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Series Notebook PC bearing the Exterior of the Grand Prize Winner’s Design; and (b) two (2) round-trip airline tickets and up to USD$500 for ground transportation and meals between the Grand Prize Winner’s home and Munich, Germany; (c) two (2) tickets to attend the 2007 MTV European Music Awards; and (d) Hotel accommodations for two (2) in Munich Germany for two (2) nights; and (e) two (2) round-trip airline tickets and up to USD$500 for ground transportation and meals between the Grand Prize Winner’s home and Houston, Texas to view the design and development of the Grand Prize Winning Design notebook; and (f) Hotel accommodations for two (2) in Houston Texas for four (4) nights; and (g) two (2) round-trip airline tickets and up to USD$500 for ground transportation and meals between the Grand Prize Winner’s home and Tokyo, Japan to view the design and development of the Grand Prize Winning Design notebook; (h) Hotel accommodations for two (2) in Tokyo, Japan for four (4) nights; collectively (the “Grand Prize” or “Grand Prizes”).
12. Regional Finalist Prize: Four (4) Regional Finalist Prize Winners will each receive one (1) HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Series Notebook PC bearing the skin of their personal Regional Finalist Design.
13. General Prize Terms: The approximate retail value (the “ARV”) of the Grand Prizes is USD$20,799. The approximate retail value (the “ARV”) of the Regional Winner Prizes is USD$3,200 (USD $800 each). (The Grand Prize and Regional Winner Prize shall be collectively known as “the Prizes”) Arrangements for the fulfillment of the Prizes will be made by the Promoter. The dates for the fulfillment of the Prizes will be on or around November 1, 2007 subject to production requirements and such dates are subject to change at the Promoter sole discretion. The Grand Prize Limited Edition HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Series Notebook bearing the Exterior of the Grand Prize Winner’s Design will be available no earlier than February 2008. If for any reason any prize related event is delayed, cancelled or postponed, the Promoter reserve the right, but are not obligated, to cancel or modify the Contest in their discretion and shall award a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
All costs and expenses not specifically listed above are solely Grand Prize Winner’s responsibility. The value of the Grand Prizes may be taxable to Grand Prize Winner as income. Upon receipt of any Grand Prize, Grand Prize Winner is required to comply with any and all applicable laws, and any other costs not specifically provided for in these Official Rules are solely the Grand Prize Winner’s responsibility. MTVN shall have no responsibility or obligation to a Grand Prize Winner or potential Grand Prize Winner who is unable or unavailable to accept or utilize Grand Prizes as described herein.
No substitution, transfer or cash equivalent of the Grand Prizes or any portion thereof permitted, except by the Promoter, in which case a prize of equal or greater value may be awarded.
14. General Terms: Noncompliance with any of these Official Rules may result in disqualification. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY A GRAND PRIZE WINNER OR ANY BEHAVIOR BY A GRAND PRIZE WINNER THAT WILL BRING SUCH GRAND PRIZE WINNER OR PROMOTER INTO DISREPUTE (IN PROMOTER’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH GRAND PRIZE WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS A GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF THE GLOBAL YOUTH SPECIAL EDITION NOTEBOOK DESIGN COMPETITION CONTEST AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS A GRAND PRIZE WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
The Promoter assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Contest. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to participants or any other persons computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest. The Promoter is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest, or in the announcement of the Grand Prize/Grand Prize Winner. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, changes in MTVN’s on-air programming, or changes in Hewlett Packard’s production schedule, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Promoter reserves the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Should the Contest be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on www.mtv-tama.com and the Grand Prizes may be awarded to winners to be selected from among all Eligible Entries received up until and/or after (if applicable) the time of modification, cancellation or termination.
